In effect from 2 August 2026
If your name or contact details are in our marketing database, you can have them removed. You do not need an account with us, and you do not need to give a reason.
ZZIPPR holds a database of individuals in Australia which our business customers use to build advertising audiences. If you received marketing that seems to have come from us or from one of our customers, or you simply want to check, this page is the way out.
We did not collect your details from you, and you will not usually have had any dealing with us before. That is exactly why this page does not ask you to sign in.
Enter your email address. We will send you a link to confirm it is really you, and once you click it your address goes onto our suppression list.
The form covers your email address. To suppress a phone number or a postal address as well, email privacy@audiencedirect.com.au with the subject Opt out and list each detail you want covered. We match on what you give us, so a number you leave out is a number we cannot suppress.
Send only what is needed to identify your records. Please do not send identity documents, government identifiers, financial details or health information — we do not need them and we do not want to hold them.
This is the part worth reading, because an opt-out here is not the same as disappearing.
We check the suppression list at two points: when an audience is assembled from our database, and again when an audience is delivered to an advertising platform. The second check is the important one — it means that even an audience a customer built before you opted out will not carry your details when it is next sent. From the moment you confirm, nothing of yours leaves us.
Anything already sent. If a customer has already delivered an audience containing your details to Meta or another platform, or exported it into their own systems, that copy sits with them and not with us. Opting out here does not recall it, and we cannot delete it on your behalf. Our terms require customers to honour opt-outs and forbid them re-adding anyone we have told them has opted out, but that is a contractual obligation on them rather than a switch we can throw.
So the honest summary is: opting out stops future use, not past use. If you are receiving marketing now, it may continue for a while from a list that was taken before you opted out. Ask the sender directly to remove you — under the Spam Act 2003 (Cth) they must honour an unsubscribe request within five business days, whatever we do.
To change the advertising you see on a platform, use that platform's own controls — for Meta, Settings & Privacy → Settings → Ads.
The suppression takes effect as soon as you click the confirmation link. Where you email us instead, we action it and confirm in writing within 30 days. Opting out is free and we will not ask you to justify it.
The details you asked us to suppress, and nothing else — because that is what lets us recognise you and keep you out. If we deleted them entirely, the next data update would simply add you back. They are used for suppression only, and are never supplied to a customer as part of an audience.
You are entitled to be told the source of your information. Ask us in the same email and we will tell you where we obtained it, ordinarily within 30 days. Asking does not add you to anything.
You can also ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it if it is wrong or out of date, instead of or as well as opting out. See sections 7 and 11 of our privacy policy.
Complain to us first at privacy@audiencedirect.com.au and we will respond in writing, ordinarily within 30 days. If that does not resolve it, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au, on 1300 363 992, or by post to GPO Box 5218, Sydney NSW 2001.
